Scholarship Benefits
Successful candidates will receive an all-inclusive funding package that covers:

- A monthly living allowance of €700
- Travel allowance for In-Region candidates (provided twice – at the beginning and end of the scholarship)
- Health insurance coverage (for In-Region candidates only)
- Opportunities for a short-term research stay in Germany (3 to 6 months, based on available funding)
- Access to summer schools and training programs in Germany

Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship is available to Sub-Saharan African graduates with a Master’s degree who wish to pursue a PhD in Development Studies at UWC. To qualify, you must:
- Hold a two-year Master’s degree with strong academic performance (at least Second Class/Upper Division or equivalent)
- Demonstrate clear motivation and commitment to your studies
- Possess proficiency in English, the language of instruction
- Have completed your most recent university degree within the past six years
- Be a national or permanent resident of a Sub-Saharan African country (excluding South African nationals)
