Applications are now open for the University of Nottingham Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship 2025/2026. Established in 2001, this scholarship supports students from Africa, South Asia, and selected Commonwealth countries who aim to drive positive change in their home nations. This flagship program is ideal for international students committed to addressing major economic, environmental, social, structural, or political issues within their communities.
The University of Nottingham is offering scholarships that cover 50% or 100% of full tuition fees for eligible one-year master’s programs. This scholarship seeks innovative, passionate students with a clear vision for developing impactful solutions that will benefit their home countries.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this scholarship, you must:
- Reside in Africa, India, or one of the eligible Commonwealth countries.
- Be classified as an international student for tuition purposes.
- Hold an offer to pursue a full-time master’s degree (including MRes) at the University of Nottingham for the 2025/26 academic year in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Science, or Faculty of Social Sciences.

You are not eligible if you:
- Are a current student or graduate of the University of Nottingham.
- Have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree outside your home country.
- Are currently studying in the UK.

Africa (all nations), Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Brunei, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Falkland Islands, Fiji, Gibraltar, Grenada, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Kiribati, Malaysia, Maldives, Montserrat, Nauru, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, St Helena, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tristan da Cunha, Turks and Caicos Islands, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
Application Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated on their demonstrated vision and detailed plans for creating solutions to key challenges in their home countries, as well as how their chosen program at Nottingham will support their goals. Those who reflect the Developing Solutions ethos clearly will then be considered based on traditional scholarship criteria, such as motivation for studying at Nottingham and notable achievements.
Application Process
To apply for this scholarship, you must first apply to and receive an offer for a full-time master’s program (including MRes) at the University of Nottingham for the 2025/26 academic year.
