UNESCO World Heritage Scholarship 2025 (grant of 50,000 SEK)

Applications are now being accepted for the UNESCO World Heritage Scholarship 2025. Established in 2018 by the Regional Assembly in Gävleborg, this program provides an international residency for individuals to explore creative connections between the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland and other UNESCO World Heritage sites.

In 2024, Paul Wiersbinski from Berlin received the scholarship for his project “The Perfect House,” which artistically linked Hälsingland’s farmhouses to Berlin’s Modernism Housing Estates through an innovative film.

Scholarship Highlights

  • Residency Duration: One month at one or two World Heritage farms.
  • Grant Value: 50,000 SEK to support project execution.
  • Perks: Includes round-trip travel to Sweden and access to a vehicle for the duration of the residency.

Who Can Apply?

  • Open to individuals from all over the world, including researchers, artists, and cultural practitioners.
  • Applicants must propose a project connecting the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland to another UNESCO World Heritage site in an artistic, cultural, or research-based approach.
