The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme 2025 is now open for applications! This renowned program aims to empower a new generation of African entrepreneurs, fostering innovation, and promoting economic growth across the continent. The program offers a comprehensive package that includes world-class business training, mentorship, seed funding of up to $5,000 (non-refundable), and access to an extensive network of global partners.

This opportunity is available to entrepreneurs with startups or established young businesses across all sectors, operating within Africa.

Eligibility

To qualify for the program, applicants must:

  • Be African entrepreneurs with a business idea or existing startup that has high growth potential.
  • Reside in one of the eligible African countries.

Program Benefits

Program Phases

  1. Application Process
    • Applicants must complete the online application and meet minimum scoring requirements to be considered.
    • Successful candidates will be enrolled in the TEF Business Management Training Programme.
  2. Verification & Onboarding
    • Applicants will undergo a verification process, which includes submitting documents to confirm their business status and identity.
    • Participants who fail verification will be removed from the program.
  3. Business Management Training
    • Participants will undertake the Foundation’s proprietary training program. Progress will be tracked, and top-performing individuals will proceed to the next phase.
  4. Business Plan Development
    • Participants will receive a business plan template to create and submit a detailed plan.
    • The top-performing participants will advance to the pitching stage.
  5. Pitching Competition
    • Participants will present their business plans to a panel of judges or submit pitch videos.
    • Selected participants will be eligible for seed funding based on pre-set criteria.
  6. Seed Capital Disbursement
    • Selected entrepreneurs will receive up to $5,000 in seed funding, subject to business verification and compliance with program requirements.

Additional Information

  • Entrepreneurs who do not progress through the stages may continue to benefit from general business training and reapply for future programs.
  • Seed capital will be disbursed via electronic transfer within 60 days of fulfilling all documentation requirements.
