Deadline: June 13, 2025
Applications are now open for the 2025 edition of the Presidential African Youth in AI and Robotics Competition. This initiative is dedicated to advancing Africa’s role in artificial intelligence, robotics, and other emerging technologies, positioning the continent as a leader in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
Organized by the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) in partnership with Elevate AI Africa and the AU High-Level Panel on Emerging Technologies, the competition is hosted in collaboration with the South African Government through the Department of Trade, Industry, and Competition (DTIC). It serves as a platform that connects policy, industry, and innovation to empower young African talent.
More than just a competition, this initiative drives industrialization, job creation, and digital transformation. It aligns with South Africa’s economic objectives and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), equipping African innovators to shape the future of AI and robotics. By fostering research, closing skills gaps, and influencing policy development, it ensures Africa is not only adopting technology but also leading its creation and governance.
