Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Cambridge. This program offers fully-funded opportunities to students from underrepresented African communities to pursue Master’s studies, develop leadership skills, and contribute to climate resilience and sustainability efforts.
Scholars can apply for a wide range of courses at Cambridge, reflecting the program’s interdisciplinary focus, which is crucial for addressing the climate crisis through STEM, Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship includes:

- Travel costs
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be citizens of an African country
- Reside in Africa (unless temporarily away for study/work, or displaced with refugee status)
- Apply for a one-year Master’s program at the University of Cambridge
- Meet the academic requirements of their chosen course
