JOB PURPOSE

To support the Communications unit primarily and other units (VAM, Programme, Supply Chain, Admin) as per the needs with graphic design and information management work to strengthen, improve and modernize the country office’s visual appearance in knowledge products, reports, briefs, food commodity artwork, presentations, donor visibility and social media.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Support the Communications unit with day-to-day activities in information management and graphic design tasks as assigned by the supervisor. These typically include creating visually appealing reports, advocacy notes, infographics, briefs, PowerPoint presentations, social media posts, templates, and design artwork.
  2. Function as an in-house video editor for small documentaries and social media content.
  3. Contribute to the successful implementation of the Communication and Advocacy Strategy by ensuring high-quality design of knowledge products and visually appealing internal and external communication.
  4. Develop infographics for the VAM, Programme, Partnerships and Supply Chain teams upon request.
  5. Liaise with provincial offices on donor visibility – support the development and approval process of visibility material for use in the field.
  6. Upgrade the design of briefs and advocacy notes in the already existing ‘Briefing package’ shared by the Country Director with partners and donors on a regular basis.
  7. Through graphic design and the use of high-quality visuals help to build the narrative of WFP as a natural partner for food, nutrition, and logistics support for the government of Pakistan.
  8. Liaise with the Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping unit (VAM) on developing an interactive, visual map of WFP’s operations.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Masters Degree in Communications, International Relations, Mass-media, Business Administration, Political Science or similar.

Experience:

  •  A minimum of 3 years of Professional/Managerial level experience in graphic design work with a solid portfolio of successful deliverables

Knowledge & skills: – Experience with and knowledge of design works within the development sector is required. Previous WFP or UN work experience is an advantage. – Excellent written and verbal communication skills. – Strong team player. – Expert skills in the use of; Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, InDesign, Publisher, Canva, Wochit

Language:

  •  Fluency (level C) in English language.
