The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) is now accepting applications for its 2024 Digital Content Internship. This internship offers the opportunity to support GCA’s communications efforts by enhancing its presence on digital platforms. As a Digital Content Intern, you will work under the Senior Communications Officer and collaborate with the External Affairs team, contributing to the organization’s mission of advancing climate adaptation solutions.

GCA is an international organization that focuses on driving climate adaptation efforts globally, with a special emphasis on helping communities most vulnerable to climate change’s impacts. They work alongside both public and private sector partners to create scalable adaptation solutions.

Internship Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Management: Assist in the creation, scheduling, and publishing of content across GCA’s social media channels, using tools like Falcon for social media management and performance tracking.
  • Content Collaboration: Partner with program teams to create compelling content showcasing GCA’s projects. You will also monitor and assess campaign outcomes to improve effectiveness.
  • Internal Communications: Contribute to GCA’s internal newsletter, coordinating with different departments, and using tools like Mailchimp for design and distribution.
  • Website Content: Support in updating and maintaining content on GCA’s website.
  • Other Tasks: Assist with various additional duties as required by the communications team.

Compensation:
Interns will receive a monthly stipend of 500 EUR.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in digital media, communications, marketing, graphic design, or a related field.
  • Basic proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere) is required, with a willingness to further develop these skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, particularly in multicultural environments.
  • Applicants must reside in the Netherlands and have authorization to work there.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with animation software (e.g., Powtoon) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with web content management systems is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills in English; French proficiency is a bonus.
