French Embassy in Ghana Scholarship for Masters Students 2025-2026

The French Embassy in Ghana is pleased to announce that applications are open for the Masters Scholarship for the academic year 2025-2026. This initiative, designed to promote academic exchange and student mobility between France and Ghana, offers fully-funded scholarships to Ghanaian students pursuing a Master’s degree, based on both merit and financial need.

In France, Master’s programs are generally structured over two years, consisting of the M1 and M2 stages. Fields of study available under this scholarship include STEM, Mathematics, ICST, Health, Environment and Sustainable Development, Archaeology and Heritage Studies, Cultural and Creative Industries, Agriculture and Food Industry, and French as a Foreign Language (FLE) — note that proficiency in French is only required for programs in FLE.

Scholarship Benefits

  • For students admitted at the M1 level, the scholarship provides full funding for two academic years.
  • For those admitted into M2, the scholarship covers one academic year.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Be a Ghanaian national residing in Ghana.
• Be under 30 years of age.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree, qualifying for entry into a Master’s program.
• Have completed National Service.
• Be considered on a priority basis if they have a First Class or Second-Class Upper degree.
• Be committed to enrolling in a Master’s program in France for the academic year 2025-2026 (and for a full program covering M1 and M2, also in 2026-2027).
• French language proficiency is not mandatory, except for applicants to Masters programs in French as a Foreign Language.

How to Apply
Applicants are required to compile their complete application package into a single PDF file and send it via email. The file should be named as follows:
Name-Surname_2025_Master.pdf
and the email’s subject line should read:
Name-Surname-2025-Master.
You will receive an email confirming the receipt of your complete application.

The application file must include:
• A copy of the international passport data page (valid for at least two years).
• A recommendation letter from your university (optional, but highly encouraged).
• A typed and completed application form.
• A one-page cover letter outlining your motivation for applying and how the course will further your career.
• Full undergraduate transcripts (preferably in one or two consolidated documents).
• An official admission letter from a French university for a Master’s program.
• A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) (maximum of three pages).
• Documents evidencing your financial situation (e.g., a scholarship certificate for ongoing studies, pay slips, or bank statements for either you or your parents).
