This program, offered in collaboration with three distinguished universities in France, Germany, and Italy, will provide funding for 15 students worldwide to complete a two-year Master’s degree in membrane biology. Each scholarship is valued at up to €33,600 annually for two years. The deadline for applications is April 6, 2025.
About the MemBioMed Program
The MemBioMed Master’s program (From Membrane Biology to Neuroscience and Experimental Medicine) delivers a top-tier interdisciplinary curriculum focused on biomembrane research. This initiative is designed to develop future scientists, innovators, and leaders in the study of cell membranes and their potential medical applications.
Participants will receive extensive training in membrane biology and its role in modern science and medicine.
Participating Institutions
MemBioMed is a collaborative program between the following universities:
- Université Côte d’Azur (UniCA), France
- University of Genoa (UniGe), Italy
- Osnabrück University (UOS), Germany
Degrees Conferred
Graduates will obtain three separate Master’s degrees, one from each partner institution:
- Master’s in Life Sciences – Université Côte d’Azur, France
- Master’s in Medicine, Pharmacy, and Biotechnology – University of Genoa, Italy
- Master’s in Biology – From Molecules to Organisms – Osnabrück University, Germany
Additionally, students will receive a joint diploma supplement detailing their acquired expertise and skills.
Mobility Structure
The program incorporates international mobility, with students following this structured academic path:
- Semester 1: Université Côte d’Azur – Introduction to membrane biology
- Semester 2: University of Genoa – Study of biomembrane-related disorders and neurological functions
- Semester 3: Osnabrück University – Specialization in cellular nanoanalysis for thesis preparation
- Semester 4: Master’s thesis at one of the consortium universities or a partner institution
