NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division plays a vital role in preserving global peace by communicating the Alliance’s purpose and priorities to diverse audiences. As its Deputy Assistant Secretary General, you will define, implement and continuously monitor our strategic communications plan to shape our public image.
In particular, you will coordinate teams to counter hostile information and disinformation, enhance our situational awareness regarding the communication landscape and broaden our outreach around the world via tailored campaigns and exceptionally high-profile branding activities.
Alongside an advanced degree in communications, public relations, international relations, political science or a related discipline, you should bring extensive senior management experience in communication or diplomatic environments. Naturally, you will be an outstanding leader and a powerful agent of change, with outstanding strategic planning skills and a real flair for public speaking, and you should be comfortable travelling extensively and operating outside official hours. Finally, familiarity with digital and civil society engagement would be very useful, as would broad knowledge of defence issues and full fluency in both English and French.
