The Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service, and Sport invites applications for the 2025 Cultural Work Trainee Program in South Africa–Austria. This program, hosted at MuseumsQuartier Vienna, offers six artists or cultural workers from South Africa the chance to engage in a two-month internship at a prestigious art institution or project in Vienna.
This experience allows participants, who must be no older than 40, to gain hands-on exposure at top Austrian art organizations. In addition to the internship, each participant will benefit from personal mentoring and support from the MuseumsQuartier team.
Program Benefits
- Two-month internship placement at a leading art institution or project in Vienna.
- Accommodation in a studio apartment within the historic MuseumsQuartier Vienna.
- Monthly stipend of €1,300 (totalling €2,600 over two months).
- Travel reimbursement up to €1,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must have a university degree or specialized training.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in the cultural or art field.
- Proficiency in English or German, enabling active participation in international cultural dialogue.
