Benefits
Australia Awards Scholarships cover the minimum study period required to complete the specified academic program at an Australian institution, often including preparatory training. Typical benefits include:
- Full tuition fees
- Return economy airfare to and from Australia, via the most direct route
- Establishment allowance—a one-time payment for initial accommodation, textbooks, and study materials
- Contribution to Living Expenses (CLE)—a bi-weekly stipend for basic living costs
- Introductory Academic Program (IAP)—a compulsory orientation covering life and study in Australia
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of the award (for awardees only)
- Pre-course English (PCE) fees (if necessary), for in-country or in-Australia training
- Supplementary academic support to aid academic success or enhance experience
- Fieldwork travel for eligible research students, covering one return economy airfare for field-related travel to their home country or within Australia
Eligibility
- Open to individuals from developing countries, especially those in the Indo-Pacific
- Study programs must align with the priority development areas of the applicant’s home country
- Training in fields related to aircraft piloting, nuclear technology, or military studies is not eligible
- Applicants may apply for other scholarships; however, recipients cannot hold another Australian government scholarship simultaneously with Australia Awards Scholarships
