Atlantic Council MLP Young Global Professionals Program – Fall 2024

Deadline: June 7, 2024

Applications are open for the Atlantic Council MLP Young Global Professionals Program – Fall 2024. The Atlantic Council’s Millennium Leadership Program (MLP) cultivates a new generation of connected and empowered global leaders to tackle unprecedented global challenges.

As the team’s full-time intern, you will provide important logistical, writing, and operational support to the Program. Their team is versatile, flexible, and small, but has a significant global impact. The work is all-hands-on-deck, and they encourage interns to actively engage with all elements of their work. This is a great “generalist” position for someone with an extraordinary orientation to details, the ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-moving environment, and a passion for writing anything from a social media post to a speech and a proposal. This work will expose the candidate to the logistical elements of virtual event-planning and planning complex large-scale in-person convenings, think tank operations, proposal writing, managing communications and social media plans, and monitoring and evaluation work. You will also experience a great deal of learning through their leadership training with multiple executive-level trainers alongside their Fellows. You are also encouraged to participate in and attend events hosted by other programs at the Atlantic Council.

The successful candidate will have a passion for work in a cross-cultural setting and an entrepreneurial ethos, while also being an effective communicator. With a work culture of constant learning, we value strong writing skills and attention to detail, and the ability to produce rigorous work under deadlines. Demonstrated interest in international affairs through class work or experience is preferred.

This internship is based in their Washington, DC headquarters. Candidates must be available to work in person throughout the duration of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administrative side of the Program, including data tracking and management for applicants, scheduling, production of program materials, and coordinating meetings and program activities.
