Applications are now open for the DAAD University Summer Courses 2024/2025. This program is designed to enhance participants’ proficiency in German, whether for general or specialized use, as well as broaden their understanding of German culture and regional studies. The courses, spanning a minimum of 18 teaching days (up to 5 days per week, excluding travel days), include at least 25 hours of instruction each week. Courses typically run from June through September.
Scholarship Benefits
- A one-time payment of €1,192 for scholarship recipients; applicants from “Least Developed Countries” may receive €1,367.
- A travel allowance for selected countries based on country-specific criteria.
- Health, accident, and personal liability insurance coverage.
Eligibility Requirements
- Open to undergraduate and master’s students across all fields of study.
- Undergraduate applicants must have completed at least two years of study by the start of the scholarship period.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old when the course begins.
- Demonstrated commitment to addressing sustainability issues.
- Applicants need to have sufficient German language skills to attend lectures and participate in group discussions, verified at the time of application.

Required documents to be uploaded on the DAAD Portal:
- Completed online application form
- A current CV in German (tabular format)
- Letter of motivation in German
- Transcripts from all university exams taken over the past two years, including grades (translated into German or English)
- For undergraduates: High school graduation certificate with grades (translated if necessary)
- For graduate applicants: Most recent degree certificate, if applicable, with grades (translated if necessary)
- Language proficiency certificates (with German or English translations if needed)
- Any additional documents relevant to your application, such as internship or employment certificates (translated if needed)
