Deadline: November 25, 2024
The DAAD TheMuseumsLab Programme 2025 is now accepting applications. This program offers African and European museum professionals a platform for collaborative learning, exchange of perspectives, networking, and career development. By connecting these professionals, the initiative seeks to foster cross-continental engagement to explore how museums can address historical narratives, respond to societal needs, and contribute to a fairer future.
TheMuseumsLab is co-organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (MfN), along with support from various cultural institutions in Africa and Europe. The program includes a digital kickoff, three seminar modules (virtual, on-site in Berlin, and on-site in Addis Ababa), short residencies at partner museums across both continents, and a virtual closing event.
Covered Costs
During the on-site components, DAAD will cover the following program-related expenses:
- International and domestic travel to and from program locations (economy airfare and second-class train tickets)
- Local transportation (when applicable) during Modules 2 and 3, as well as the Residencies
- Airport transfers (Addis Ababa Module 3 and African residencies, if relevant)
- Visa fees for official applications
- Health insurance (reimbursement up to €40)
- Accommodation for on-site Modules and Residency periods
