Applications are now open for the Amref International University (AMIU) and Mastercard Foundation Learning for Life (L4L) Postgraduate Scholarship 2025/2026. This fully funded scholarship supports students enrolling in selected postgraduate programs at AMIU’s School of Public Health.
Amref International University is a leading Pan-African institution dedicated to strengthening human resources in the health sector. The scholarship aims to equip health professionals with the necessary skills to address Africa’s healthcare challenges while enhancing their employment prospects.
Eligible Postgraduate Programs
Candidates can apply for the following master’s degree programs:
- Master of Public Health (Applied Epidemiology)
- Master of Science in Health Systems Management
- Master of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights and Policy
Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship provides financial support for:
- Tuition fees
- Monthly stipend
- Research thesis
- Academic-related travel
- Conference presentations and publications
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Fulfil the admission requirements for the selected AMIU postgraduate program
- Be available for enrollment in the May 2025 intake
- Be a citizen and resident of Kenya or Zambia
- Be 35 years or younger at the time of application (exceptions apply for: young women, displaced persons, refugees, individuals with disabilities, the unemployed, and those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds)
Application Process
Applicants must first secure admission into Amref International University before applying for the scholarship. The following documents must be submitted through the online application portal:
- Cover Letter (500 words) explaining the motivation for applying
- Certified academic certificates and transcripts (university and high school)
- 1,000-word research project proposal in the chosen field
- Two reference letters from an academic institution, employer, or internship supervisor
- Copy of national ID or passport
- Recent passport-size photo (2cm x 2cm, in JPG, PNG, or TIFF format)
- Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Proof of socio-economic disadvantage (letter from a community leader)
- Refugee ID or displacement verification document (if applicable)
- Disability registration document (if applicable)
Submission Guidelines
- Prepare and organize all required documents in PDF format, except for the passport photo.
- Name files as: Your Full Name – Document Name.
