Africa CDC, under the African Union, invites applications for a fully funded biomanufacturing fellowship aimed at upskilling current employees of African vaccine/therapeutics manufacturers.
Why This Fellowship?
Africa produces less than 1% of its vaccine needs. To shift this, the African Union aims to scale this to 60% by 2040. A skilled, well-trained workforce is essential to get there.
This fellowship addresses:
- Talent shortages in the health manufacturing workforce
- Lack of practical training programmes for employees
- Fragmented skill-building that leaves staff underprepared
Programme Overview
- Duration: 24 months (flexible, with short in-person sessions)
- Audience: Mid-career professionals in biomanufacturing
- Coverage: Fully funded by the Africa CDC

Who Can Apply?
Master’s degree holders in:
- Biotechnology
- Pharmacy
- Chemistry/Biochemistry

Must work in a registered biomanufacturing company in an AU member state
- Valid passport required
- Employer endorsement letter mandatory
