Applications are now open for the VLIR-UOS ICP Connect Scholarships 2025, providing fully funded opportunities to pursue accredited international study programmes in English at Flemish universities or universities of applied sciences in Belgium. These scholarships support applicants from 30 eligible countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

VLIR-UOS facilitates scholarships and academic partnerships between institutions in Flanders and partner regions in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Their focus is on fostering global sustainable development through education and collaboration.
Scholarship Benefits
Recipients of the ICP Connect Scholarship receive comprehensive funding, including:
- Full coverage of tuition fees.
- Travel expenses.
- Insurance.
- Living costs (accommodation and meals).
Scholarships are granted for the entire duration of the programme (12, 24, or 36 months). Partial scholarships or extensions are not available.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Nationality and Residency: Must be from one of the 30 eligible countries and reside in one of these countries at the time of application.
- Age Limits:
- For bachelor or initial master’s programmes, applicants must be under 35 years old as of January 1 of the intake year.
- For advanced master’s programmes, the age limit is 45 years.
- Applicants for bachelor’s programmes must be at least 19 years old by January 1 of the intake year.
- Professional Background: Priority is given to applicants working in higher education, government, or civil society, or those aiming for careers in these sectors. Recent graduates or private-sector employees with strong motivation and relevant profiles may also be considered.
- Scholarship Restrictions:
- Applicants may apply for only one ICP Connect Scholarship per year.
- They must not receive any other scholarships or grants for the same or other programmes.
- Applicants who previously received a Belgian government scholarship or were enrolled in a Belgian institution before January 1 of the intake year are ineligible.

- Explore Programmes: Research the available study programmes on the official websites of participating institutions.
- Apply: Submit your application for both the programme and the scholarship through the institution’s website. Indicate your intention to apply for the scholarship during the application process.
Each programme has its own deadline, so check with the specific institution for details. Selected candidates and those on the waiting list will be contacted via email by VLIR-UOS no later than mid-June.
