British Academy International Fellowship 2025-2027

Applications are now open for the British Academy International Fellowship 2025-2027. The Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CRASSH) at the University of Cambridge invites applications for this prestigious program.

This two-year fellowship is designed to attract and support outstanding international early career researchers, fostering a globally connected and mobile research community. The program provides an opportunity for researchers to carry out high-quality and innovative projects in the UK, enhancing their professional development and advancing their academic careers.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a PhD, or be in the final stages of completing their PhD (including viva) before the fellowship begins. Proof of the PhD award will be required before the fellowship is confirmed.
  • Have no more than seven years of full-time postdoctoral experience (excluding career breaks but including teaching or industry roles).
  • Be based outside the UK and not hold UK citizenship.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Have a well-defined research proposal agreed upon with a UK host researcher, demonstrating mutual benefit.

Application Process

To apply, candidates should prepare the following documents:

  1. A two-page CV, including the dates of the PhD viva and the award of the PhD.
  2. A one-page list of publications.
  3. A completed internal selection form.
  4. Contact details for one referee, preferably based in the UK, who is not the applicant’s mentor or PhD supervisor.

This is the internal deadline for assessing and selecting applications to be submitted to the British Academy, whose deadline is expected to be in mid-March 2025.
