Join the Black Communities Technical Housing Resource Centre (BCHC) Task Force
The Network for the Advancement of Black Communities (NABC) is committed to enhancing capacity and promoting equitable housing outcomes for Black communities. To achieve this goal, NABC is establishing the BCHC.
Task Force Opportunity
We are seeking qualified and diverse individuals to serve on the BCHC Task Force. This dedicated group will play a crucial role in shaping the BCHC’s foundation and ensuring its alignment with the needs of Black communities across Canada.
Responsibilities
- Review existing work and develop a comprehensive statement of purpose for the BCHC.
- Propose a suitable governance and membership structure for the BCHC, considering its national scope.
- Oversee the establishment of the inaugural board of directors.
- Integrate Afrocentric values into the governance and operational structure of the Centre.

Eligibility
- Proven experience in nonprofit governance, particularly in board membership or management roles requiring strategic thinking and decision-making.
- Dedication to addressing the housing needs of Black communities.
- Strong leadership skills and a collaborative approach.
- Understanding of Black culture and the challenges faced by racialized communities in Canada.
- Preference is given to candidates with direct experience working with Black communities.
- Geographical diversity to ensure representation from across Canada.
