Konan University has released the Japanese government (MEXT) scholarship application guidelines and the form for 2025 enrollment (University Recommendation).
The following programmes are available at the respective campuses below;
- Okamoto Campus: Graduate school of Humanities, Social science, Natural science
- Port Island Campus: Graduate School of Frontiers of Innovative Research in Science and Technology
Eligibility Requirements for Konan University Scholarship 2025
To be considered for the Konan University Scholarship, you must:
- have a bachelor’s degree to apply for a master’s program and a master’s degree for a PhD program.
- demonstrate proficiency in either English or Japanese.
- be an international applicant seeking admission to Konan University.
- apply for the program and scholarship on or before the deadline.

Required Documents for Konan University MEXT Scholarship 2025
To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;
- Application form (RESEARCH STUDENTS) & Field of Study and Research Plan
- Recommendation letter (Non-copy): It is obliged to be signed by the university’s dean you are currently admitted to and addressed to the president of Konan University.
- Copy of the passport holder’s information page
- Academic transcript of your bachelor course (Non-copy).
- Also a transcript of your master’s course in case you apply to the doctoral course.
- Certificate of Graduation or Expected Graduation (Non-copy)
- Abstract of thesis
- A certificate of your language proficiency in Japanese or English—TOEFL, IELTS, or JLPT—is acceptable (in case you don’t have the certificate, please consult the KIEC).

To apply for the Konan University MEXT Scholarship, interested and qualified candidates should;

- Applicants need to contact Konan University professor(s) before obtaining consent to be your academic supervisor.
- All required application documents should be submitted to the contact professor by the deadline.
- You must submit all of the required documents and materials, including photo data, to contact the professor no later than 17:00(JST) on January 10, 2025.
- Late applications will not be accepted. Also, please send the original documents by FEDEX / DHL / EMS to arrive by 31st January 2025.
