Deadline: November 27, 2024

The Logic(s) Palestinian Journalist Fellowship 2025 is now open for applications. This fellowship is dedicated to empowering Palestinian journalists to tell community-centred stories that examine Palestine’s connection to technology, enhance coverage of Palestinian issues, and distribute resources to local journalists.

Fellows will receive specialized training, workshops, and informal mentoring in areas like secure communications, algorithmic systems, and tech culture. Through collaboration with the Arab Reform Initiative (ARI), they will also access bilingual (English/Arabic) programming that includes a tech workgroup focused on the Middle East and North Africa. Fellows may choose to participate in these workgroups and contribute to related publications.

This fellowship is generously funded by Distributed AI Research, Migration and Technology Monitor, Pillars Fund, and contributions from Logic(s) readers and supporters.

Fellowship Benefits

  • Each of the four chosen fellows will receive a stipend totalling $20,000 USD over the fellowship year.
  • Fellows will join the Logic(s) editorial board and have the opportunity to participate in critical tech studies with ARI.
  • Fellows are expected to contribute at least one article to Logic(s) over the fellowship period, with the option to commission and publish up to two pieces per issue.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to Palestinian journalists and storytellers worldwide.
  • Priority will be given to early-career applicants currently residing in Palestine, living in refugee camps, or recently displaced.
