Benefits of Farmers Scholarship
The Young Farmers Upskill and Invest Scholarship offers:
- Up to $5,000 for study: This can be used for courses, workshops, or other educational programs that will help you develop your skills.
- Up to $5,000 for practical application: Invest in professional development, business planning, or on-farm activities to put your new knowledge to use.
Since its inception in 2015, this program has awarded scholarships to 117 young farmers, with 12 to 14 scholarships granted each year. The scholarship is designed to be flexible and fit with the demands and ambitions of young farmers and farm workers.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be aged between 18 and 35 at the time of the application close date.
- Work in a food and fibre farm business in Victoria at least three days per week for the past three months.
- Have at least two years of total on-farm experience.
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident currently residing in Victoria.
