The African Export-Import Bank is inviting qualified students to apply for its 2025 internship programme. This opportunity is part of the bank’s efforts to promote a deeper understanding of trade in Africa and the structured trade finance approach it champions.

Through the programme, Afreximbank aims to empower students with practical exposure to its operations while gaining fresh perspectives and insights from young, motivated individuals.

Who Is Eligible

This internship is available to:

• Nationals of Afreximbank member countries,
• Students of African heritage in the diaspora,
• Non-African students who share the bank’s vision for a prosperous Africa.

Applicants must be aged 20–32 and enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programme during the internship year. Preferred fields include economics, business, finance, accounting, engineering, and the social sciences. Fluency in English or French is required, and additional language skills in Arabic or Portuguese will be beneficial.

Support Offered

While interns are expected to cover personal expenses such as food, transportation, and insurance, the bank provides several key benefits:

• Return travel expenses from the student’s academic institution to the internship site,
• A $1,000 monthly stipend and a $500 housing allowance (for international interns),
• Hotel accommodation during the first week of induction, with breakfast included,
• Airport transfers at the beginning and end of the programme,
• Support with residence visa arrangements if necessary.
